ME!

Hi! I’m Britta! I’ve had a passion for health & fitness for as long as I can remember. Wanting to share this with others, I began working as a Personal Trainer my sophomore year of college, and have since earned my degree in Exercise Science as well as become an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. I have worked in the fitness industry for 7 years now helping others gain confidence and reach their goals!

I am Wisconsin born and raised, went to college all the way out in Virginia, but ultimately ended up back in the Midwest here in Pella. I have family ties to Pella (I grew up coming here for Christmas!), so when my husband’s job brought us here, I was excited to join the community that this cute little Dutch town has to offer. I love anything active, going to the beach, shopping, and enjoy doing social media marketing for fun as a little side hustle. I’m married to my high school sweetheart and best friend, and we love to travel together in our time off! Anyway, enough about me- hopefully this gives you a little insight into my background, and I can’t wait to get to know you!

My Training Philosophy:

There are three main things that I center my personal training and programming around:

  1. Movement is medicine.

Building functional strength and stability prevents injury, it solves pain and imbalances, it increases your energy and your confidence. Studies have proven time and time again that exercise improves mental health. It’s not all about aesthetics (although we can work on that, too). Movement patterns done in exercise mimic movement patterns done in your daily life- even if you don’t go to the gym the rest of your life, you will learn skills that you will use for the rest of your life.

  2. Your journey should be personalized; fitness is for everyone but is not one size fits all.

Anyone can follow a program they find online, but when it comes to your specific needs and goals, personalized assessments, form corrections, workouts, and nutrition make all the difference. This also means blocking out the comparison and focusing on yourself- with the help of a Personal Trainer you will be able to do things you never thought you’d be able to in the past!

  3. Fitness should be fun!

My programming is always tailored to things YOU enjoy. Yes, there are always mundane or routine parts that have to be checked off in order to progress you towards your goals, but I’m never going to make you do something you hate. If we try a training style or particular exercise that you don’t enjoy (burpees anyone?), we’ll try something else! Fitness has endless movement substitutions and ways to reach your goals, and I guarantee we will find something that is right up your alley.

I am so passionate about changing lives through health and fitness and I can’t wait to help you change yours!
